it's nearly christmas!

hello. sorry family and whichever friends still read this, i am really bad at updating these days. im writing this from birmingham airport. waiting for plane to belfast to go see steve for christmas. im sitting in pret drinking miso soup (so typically asian), and there's frosty the snowman playing in the background. i love christmas. i wish we didnt have finals to contend with so that i could enjoy it fully but at least we'll be stress free after january (hopefully anyway). i think this is the 3rd christmas ive spent in the UK. it does feel more christmassy here than back home cos of the weather and the appropriateness of hot chocolate and mulled wine (dont really like hot drinks at home.. and had never heard of mince pies till i came here (and thought they would be filled with actual mince meat, imagine the raisin surprise).

but then christmas also doesnt feel like christmas without family and friends.. im lucky that at least i have a family to spend it with! and good friends here. had some good pre christmas times in reading (at miriams house, we watched love actually and had mince pies mulled wine and cookies) and also back in oxford, lots of christmas ukulele playing. im missing home a lot though. ok i guess i better get moving, it might be time to board......
